What is a plant-based diet?
Generally speaking, a plant-based diet consists of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, herbs, and spices. Some individuals add to the plant-based diet, small amounts of fish and poultry two or three times weekly. Plant-based diet involves eating “natural plant products” and plant products/ foods that are minimally processed. Very little meat, fish and poultry is consumed.
